Drama from the Mini-Boss

“Some of the players, too busy building mansions and doing other things and not concentrating on winning. I have no problem saying that.”

That was from Yankee principle owner Hank Steinbrenner yesterday.  An obvious dig at the face of the franchise.  I get what he was trying to do.  He was implying that the team was focused on other things besides a championship and because of that the 2010 Bronx Bombers came up short of repeating.

I think the reason the Yanks lost last October was an ineffective #2 and #3 starters, a #1 with a balky knee and no Mark Teixeira.  I don’t think it had anything to do with your Captain building a mansion, which I am pretty sure he was also building in 2009.  Maybe, just maybe they weren’t as good as they were in 2009.

Here’s some news Hank, you ain’t your Pops and you never will be.  Stop trying to be like him.  Don’t call out the face of your organization.  There are better ways to motivate a club w/o using the press as your soundboard.  Don’t get me wrong, I love all this drama and bickering coming from Tampa.

BTW, in Sox camp, Adrian Gonzalez hit and felt great.  Just sayin………
