where would you wnat to live and why?
Considering that we are buried under feet of snow, have you considered picking up and moving?
To be honest with you, I have not. I love New England. I love all the seasons. I love the weather changes. I think if I could step back I would even love all these storms. The thing I hate is having to drive in it every time a storm hits. My drive at 2am was in a word, treacherous. It took me a 1/2 hour just to get out the driveway and passed numerous stranded drivers. I wanted to stop but was worried that if I stopped I would be stuck as well.
Even with all that said, I love it. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. San Diego can keep their 75 year round temps.
Don't get me wrong though, I'll be the first to admit how much I want to go to an island for a few days to thaw out but get me back to good ol' CT.

Tires. Real snow tires really do work. Tire chains seem to be something that CT drivers will need to become re-aquainted with. Colorado requires tire chains on many roads.
