Playoff Time!!!!

Love this time of year in football.  Even if the G-Men thought the year ended in October and I have to sit through the Eagles, Cowboys and Patriots, or what I like to call: HELL!!!!

It’s also time for my Solid-as-Steel guaranteed* playoff picks.

Game one Saturday 4pm:  NY Jets @ Cincinnati.  The Bengals come into the game as AFC North Champs and the #4 seed and a 2 1/2 point favorite.  They will leave this game losers.  The J-E-T-S are on a roll even if their last two foes rolled over like a dead dog.  Gang Green is built for a nice run:  solid defense and a stout running game.  Very similar to the way the Giants were in 2008.  Jets 23-13.

Game two Saturday 8pm: Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys.  Cowboys(favored by 4) won last week very easily against the eagles enabling them to clinch the NFC East and the #3 seed.  The ‘Boys have shaken their December stigma now can they win a playoff game for the first time in almost a decade.  If the Eagles show up and play eagle football, the answer is no.  I think Philly has the weapons to win but they need to have all cylinders pumping.  If not, Dallas will roll once again.  Eagles 34-31.

Game three Sunday 1pm: Baltimore Ravens @ New England Patriots (favored by 3 1/2).  New England won the AFC East but at what cost.  They have lost all-pro receiver Wes Welker to a knee injury and come in with a huge void on offense.  Luckily they have fallbacks Tom Brady and Randy Moss to help out.  Expect a lot of Kevin Faulk and Benjamin Watson to help fill the Welker hole.  The Ravens will hope to run, run, and run some more with the “d” doing the rest.  I think The Patsies stay perfect at home.  New England 28-24.

Game four Sunday 4pm: Green Bay Packers @ Arizona Cardinals(favored by 1).  Green Bay rolled over ‘Zona last week but the Cards played all their scrubs.  Arizona already had the NFC West and the #4 seed locked up and had nothing to play for.  This game has the makings for a classic desert shoot-out.  Both defenses will be beaten and abused but the one that makes just one big play will win.  I think ex-Michigan star Charles Woodson makes that play.  Green Bay 41-35.

Wow, I picked three road dogs.  Good thing I don’t do this for a living.

Enjoy the games.
